We Are VOICE

Local 100A of the Civil Service Employees Association brings together over 7,200 registered family and licensed group family child care providers across New York State (outside NYC). Since 2002, we have brought awareness to the need for change in childcare through active participation in public hearings, community coalitions, and involvement with New York state government. We advocate for more respect for the profession, delivery of on-time payments from counties and fair and consistent childcare regulations and enforcement. We are working to solve problems that providers face, improve the overall quality of care for children and expand access to affordable early learning and care for all children and families in New York.

In February 2010, we ratified our first Agreement with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. The Agreement includes program grants, dollars to expand eligibility for Family Health Plus and access to professional development opportunities, and the right to union assistance with regulation and payment processes.

VOICE members get to vote on VOICE/CSEA agreements with OCFS and participate on negotiating teams; the right to vote and run for union offices; member newsletters and access to our Members Only webpage (coming soon);VOICE/CSEA/AFSCME Member Discount Programs; our member call center, staff representatives and Provider Advocates; VOICE sponsored training and professional development opportunities; professional lobbyists working in Albany and Washington, DC to advocate for increased child care funding, better policies and programs.
