Grants for your small business needs
This grant program, negotiated in our first VOICE contract, provides a grant up to $500 to New York State registered family and licensed group family child care providers outside of New York City. The grants may be used to purchase items you need to provide quality child care and run your small business, such as Health and Safety Items, Program Materials and Supplies, Tuition, Professional Development Training, and Infant Child CPR-First Aid Training.
Child Care Program Grant Update - November 2011
New applications have been mailed in a white envelope marked VOICE/ CSEA GRANT APPLICATION from WORK Institute. All applications must be returned by December 30, 2011. All purchases (for reimbursement option) must be made by January, 30, 2012.
We have received approximately 2500 applications from child care providers across New York State. Our team is working to review applications for approval. When your application is approved, we mail a letter. If your application is incomplete, we let you know so that you can re-send the application including all the information we need in order to process it.
 You can now check the status of your grant application online at https://csealearningcenter.org/grants/grantstatus.cfm. Please allow a minimum of two weeks from the date you mailed your application, before you check the status online.
If you haven’t received or have misplaced your grant packet mailing please call: 1-855-GRANT4U (1-855-472-6848) or email grant4u@cseainc.org. Please provide your full name, email address, phone number, address, and your day care license or registration number.
Please make sure that you complete the application and attestation forms accurately. This checklist will help to make sure that your application is complete before you mail it.
Your completed forms should have:
- Three (3) Signatures.
- Two (2) on the application
- One (1) on attestation.
- Two (2) Dates.
- One (1) on application.
- One (1) on attestation.
- One (1) Check Mark — Licensed or Registered.
- Four (4) Initials (plus one (1) if applicable) — all on attestation.

KAPLAN EARLY LEARNING COMPANY CREDIT
CSEA is working with Kaplan Early Learning Company to provide you the opportunity to purchase Health and Safety Items, Program Supplies, and Tuition or Training for your small business at no out-of-pocket expense to you.
Once we process and approve your application, you will receive a letter of acceptance and a password for Kaplan's VOICE website. Kaplan will issue you a $500 credit. Place a phone or internet order and Kaplan will bill CSEA directly (see the Kaplan product flyer). All products listed on Kaplan's VOICE website are approved for this grant.
CSEA CHILD CARE QUALITY GRANT REIMBURSEMENT
If you prefer you may pay directly for allowable child care business expenses or education and training expenses. Once your application and original receipts are received and approved, you will receive reimbursement up to $500 for allowable expenses. Receipts must be dated between March 1, 2011 and January 30, 2012. You may only submit once for reimbursement, so it would be in your best interest to wait until you can submit as close to $500 worth of receipts as possible.
